Ok for beginners that are auditory learners

This audio book is a great starter for beginners. Especially if they are auditory learners. It did come with a PDF file of the book (that I had to request after listening to the first part of the book as I did not automatically receive the file when I got the book). I don't think I could have made it the whole way through the book without this file. I needed to see the script examples as my mind became numb hearing the code spoken.

The gentleman reading the book does a fine job. I just think the codes should not have been read, but that is just me. Also in reading the codes almost everything was given except spaces. When learning a new language/program you do not automatically know where those spaces go. So another good reason it comes with that PDF file (make sure you get it otherwise you may be very lost).

Overall it does give you a good start on understanding what Javascript is and how to write simple code.

This book is a very easy to understand introduction to JavaScript. It is a great beginner's guide for anyone who is wanting to learn the basics of writing JavaScript. It doesn't go in depth into any one aspect of JS, but instead explains all the different necessary points. The narrator has a British accent which is easy to understand and flows nicely. The only issue I had was that he tends to read a bit slower so I found myself listening at 1.5x speed. I received this product at a discount in exchange for my fair and honest review. Nobody likes to be suckered, and everyone deserves to find trustworthy reviews, so I've attempted exactly that. I think this is very informative for an eBook.

My brother and I are self-studying Javascript since we would like to expand our knowledge on languages. We both got this book and we are delighted with it. Since we are still learning Javascript, we found the content of this book useful. It was explained very simply and I was able to follow each discussion with ease. The examples provided were also very useful. I just wish there were exercises or tests so I can put what I learned to practice. Other than that, I think this is very informative for an eBook.

This majestic three-volume encyclopedia, abridged from a 30-volume set in Hebrew and with a foreword by Elie Wiesel, chronicles Jewish life before and during the Holocaust. Arranged alphabetically by town, thousands of entries explore centuries of Jewish life. Some entries, particularly for large cities, provide information on Jewish residents as early as the Middle Ages and discuss the fate of Jews during the Black Death persecutions (1348-1349) and various pogroms from the 17th to 20th centuries. Each entry provides vital information on the town's Jewish inhabitants on the eve of German occupation, gives the dates of Jewish roundups and mass executions and estimates how many Jews from that community survived the war. Except in very rare cases (as with Copenhagen), the survival statistics are horrifying. But the encyclopedia offers more than statistics: the numbers come to life through more than 600 black-and-white photographs, most of which are from the archives of Israel's Yad Vashem museum. Here we see the vibrancy of Jewish life before the war kolkhoz theater groups and swing bands, weddings and riotous Purim parties, shops and synagogues. Several of the photographs depict Jewish military units from WWI; others show Jewish young people looking bored in chemistry class or diligently trying to master the violin during orchestra practice. A final 56-page section entitled "In Memoriam" provides unforgettable, haunting photographs of the Holocaust itself. This three-volume set is a required acquisition for libraries and anyone interested in Jewish studies.

These three volumes are a translation and abridgment of the 30-volume Encyclopedia of Jewish Communities published in Hebrew by Yad Vashem, the Holocaust Remembrance Authority of Israel. Over 6000 communities are profiled by an international set of scholars in these glossy, double-column pages, which are deftly illustrated and have an easy-to-read typeface. Each community is listed alphabetically in bold face by historical name, with current name, district, country at the time, and current location (e.g., Poland, today Belarus) also given as appropriate. A historical survey follows, dating from the first recorded appearance of a Jewish community to its ultimate destruction during the Holocaust. Entries on major communities (for example, Berlin) may run over ten pages; many smaller communities are given, at the very least, a long, detailed paragraph noting major industries and examining cultural and political life. Scholars, of course, will welcome these volumes, but informed lay readers, including Jewish genealogists, will find them useful and informative as well. Patrons will want to use these volumes in combination with the Encyclopaedia Judaica (1972) for their initial research on Jewish communities. Libraries should also be sure to have one of the new single-volume Holocaust encyclopedias and guides, The Holocaust Encyclopedia (LJ 5/1/01), The Encyclopedia of the Holocaust (Facts on File, 2000), or The Columbia Guide to the Holocaust (LJ 3/15/01). UNIQUE CONTRIBUTION

As mentioned previously, this is a 3-volume condensation (in English) of a 30-volume Hebrew study. This is obvious if compared with some of the entries in the 1970s Encyclopedia Judaica.It is information not to be found anywhere else, particularly its entries of even the smallest European towns.I found one major fault, and several minor ones.The major fault, and one that I cannot understand, is the complete omission of any cities and towns of Bulgaria, even Sofia!One observation that is debatable, is how many volumes should have been published (and therefore made available to English-speaking readers) and, thus, if made into another volume or two, the obvious space/time limitation would not have been so obvious.Minor criticisms: Rumania, instead of Romania. Many inconsequential and trivial photos; the space could have been used for more detail in places where gross omissions occurred.It is obvious that there is no book like it. The Encyclopedia Judaica is superior for the towns/cities it mentions; but, since EJ covers much else, this set's coverage of so many more towns/cities, makes it unique and essential to anyone who desires this information. Another minor point: Why is Jewabne not mentioned?

A must in every Jewish....and non Jewish home

As history recedes into the foggy past, this wonderful work should remind future generations of their originis and what transpired in the recent past. I recommend this Encyclopedia of Jewish Life Before and During the Holocaust as a written record as well as a memorial to our immediate past families. It tells us and future generations how we came to be where we are in the present.

An interesting diversion.

Even though the second half of the novel is mostly about the punishment and the seduction of two young girls (without much actual sex), "Sadopaiedia" is still an interesting erotic novel. Fans of the whipping/spanking genre will probably enjoy all the permutations explored by Cecil and the ladies. If you're looking for a lot of "regular" sex, this isn't the book for you. After the first half, where Cecil "comes into his own" as the submissive who becomes dominant, it's mostly about whipping the girls and the oral arts. The examination of the complex "harem" Cecil creates and manages makes me wonder if there's a sequel.

The Best since "The Story of O"

Hello everyone,
I have to say that this is the best SM book I have ever read since the classic "Story of O". Period.
And what's great about it is not just the punishment scenes. Oh, those are very well written. The best abou this book is the characters. They are so well portrayed that you actually feel that you know them.
And you have one character of each kind. The dominant aunt and her companion (the narrator, Cecil), the submissive maid and in the midle of the story come two young teenangels to spend the summer with them.
Two girls. One voluptuous and dazzling but shy and obedient. The other a tomboy, defiant and rebel. They both will learn a lot during their stay. Specially the first one, Gladys. I don't think I ever saw such a beautifully portrayed character in an SM novel. The way she reacts before her first punishment, the way she endures the sufferin and yet submits. It's quite a thrill.
Then there is the submissive maid alway being punished for the smallest fault and accepting it with submission.
Another thrill is to see the love triangle that begins to form in that house, the jealousy and the pain it causes. In the end, when the girls are totally surrendered to their hosts perversions, it's great to see the kind of games they organize ...............
Like I said, it's just terrific. It was the first SM book I read after "The Story of O" and after reading many others, this one still beats all.

One of the BEST Blue Mooon boks around

A two volume 250 page victorian tale of the experiences of Cecil Pendergast a young Oxford undergraduate who gets an education in the ways of erotic love at it's best.
The alluring widow, Ms Muriel Harcourt (I've seen this name in many of the best of erotic literature through the years... it must have meant soemthing for the victorians ... ) teaches a willling and sufficiently submissive Cecil where real pleasure can be derived and for more than a fleeting moment. She certainly, and the author does complete justice, know how to suck the fruits of joy out of life and treats her encounters like a delicious meal to be enjoyed ...
Although I'm definitely not into S&M this book knows where its should start and stop ... what a masterfull peice of writing to accomplish that ....
A MUST HAVE for your library ... Dont let the title fool you it is THE BEST ... loved it!
